Bridlington Golf Club is launching the start of its 2013 junior coaching programme on Friday 12 April.

Club professional Anthony Howarth will be co-ordinating the sessions alongside PGA Level III coaches Steve Raybould and Ivan Oliver and they are is open to both boys and girls aged five years and over.

The sessions will run every Friday from 5.30pm until 7pm and the cost is £5 per week.

The junior coaching at the Belvedere club changed from its regular Saturday morning slot a couple of years ago to a Friday evening in a bid to try and attract more budding junior golfers, as often Saturday mornings are hectic with family and other sporting commitments.

The sessions will work closely with both the Golf Foundation and the English Golf Union’s National Skills Challenge.

During the course of the year prize presentations will take place rewarding the youngsters with a selection of prizes, trophies and certificates.

The three golf professionals are very keen to develop junior golf in the Bridlington area and take it to a new level locally.

Many of the youngsters who have attended previous courses have now progressed into membership at local clubs and some have gone on to represent the county at junior and senior level.

The hope is that many of the newcomers will follow in their footsteps.

No previous golfing knowledge is required and for those without equipment everything will be provided.

If you would like more information or if you would like to register your child for the coaching, contact Anthony Howarth at Bridlington Golf Club on 674721.

All coaches are CRB police checked.
