Alex Belt’s incredible season continued when he won the latest round of the 1836 Tour at Fulford Golf Club on Monday.
He picked up his 26th win of the year, by shooting a six-under par round of 66 at the former European Tour venue Fulford in cold but perfect conditions.
With the course immaculate and the greens in remarkable condition, Belt had a quiet front nine of one-under but played the back nine in 31 to head the leaderboard.
Three birdies in the final three holes clinched the victory for Belt, who represents De Vere and Snainton Golf Centre.
He was one shot clear of Malton and Norton’s Chris Halley and two players from The Midlands Paul Streeter and Ian Walley, to bank the £600 first prize.
His record in this year’s 1836 Tour events now shows four wins and eight top three finishes.
Belt now heads to Turkey with Walley for The PGA playoffs where a top 10 finish will result in a start in The BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
