Local bragging rights are up for grabs at the weekend as Bridlington and Sewerby go head-to-head in their first derby of the cricket season.

Bridlington will travel to the clifftops as the favourites, boosted by last Saturday’s impressive win at high-flying Goole.

Relegated last season, Sewerby have struggled to adapt to life in York Senior League Division One and sit at the foot of the table.

They were beaten at Pickering last weekend and are already 53 points behind their local rivals, who are up to seventh.

The two teams have not met in the league for two seasons. The action gets underway at 1pm.

The club’s second teams also go up against each other on Saturday in Beckett League Division B. The match at Dukes Park starts at 1.30pm.
