Sewerby had the best of their York Senior League Division One derby clash with Bridlington.
An unbroken sixth-wicket partnership of 98 between Michael Artley (54no) and Lyndon Warcup (57no) after Adrian Long had scored 59 meant Sewerby reached 211-5 against their local rivals, Sam Edmundson taking 3-22 for Brid.
Opener Harry Burnhill then batted through the visitors’ response to finish unbeaten on 54 and Simon Leeson scored 44 as their side reached 166-8 to earn a losing draw.
In Division Two of the Scarborough Beckett League, Bridlington 2nds claimed a five-wicket win over Fylingdales.
The Whitby side made 118-9 as a number of batsmen including Chris Shrimpton (28 not out), Guy Shrimpton (26) and Duncan Steele (25), made starts but failed to progress to big scores.
Callum Battams claimed 4-21 and Mike Tate 3-36 for the hosts before Andy Leeson struck an unbeaten 58 to guide them to a winning total of 120-5.
Calvin Roche hit 55 not out as Sewerby 2nds made 110 all out at Ravenscar, a score that enabled them to win the game by 49 runs.
Jish Rewcroft (3-19) and John Murrell (3-26) impressed with the ball for the villagers as they restricted the away side to what looked like an achievable total.
Ravenscar were bundled out for just 61 however, Rewcroft’s 21 the pick of their batting efforts.
Jake Hatton was in unplayable form for the victors, taking 6-10 which included a hat-trick, helping his side claim top spot in the league standings.
