Bridlington Town have pounced to sign striker Brett Agnew from Hull United.
Agnew has netted 26 times for the NCEL Division One side this season, adding to the 17 he hit in the Humber Premier League last year.
The forward was on the scoresheet for United against Bridlington in the East Riding Senior Cup final at the KC Stadium last May, before Town went on to win 4-2.
Town manager Gary Allanson said: “This will be a big boost for us.
“It will take a bit of pressure off the younger players, who can then have the correct rest.
“Brett is a proven goalscorer and also has that physical presence and work rate that we have been missing. He is experienced and will help the younger players to improve.
“It will give us the opportunity to change things slightly and we will have someone who can get on the end of crosses.”
Agnew should be available for Bridlington’s league match at Rainworth Miners Welfare today (Saturday).
