Bridlington Town kicked off their pre-season in fine style on Wednesday evening, claiming a 3-0 success at NCEL Premier Division rivals Hall Road Rangers.
The new-look Town team were thankful for a superb first-half penalty save to his right from keeper Jody Barford to keep out Fraser Hansen's effort, then Barford also brilliant palmed over Luke Salas' follow-up volley over the bar.
Rangers could have been two or three goals ahead by the break but fine work by the Town defence and Barford kept it at 0-0 by the interval.
The Seasiders improved after the interval and finally took the lead on 65 minutes, Chris Adams slotting past former Brid keeper James Hitchcock from close-range after some fine play down the left flank.
New signing Danny Stimpson marked his Town debut with a superb towering header to make it 2-0 to the away side four minutes from time.
Striker Jake Day completed the scoring a minute from time, bringing the ball down on the edge of the box after a couple of fortunate bounces and smashing a strike beyond Hitchcock and into the top corner of the net.
Town's next friendly game is against the Scarborough Saturday League Rep Team at Scarborough RUFC on Saturday July 14, 3pm kick-off.
