The NCEL have decided to delay the start of the 2020/21 league season by a fortnight initially, meaning that the Premier Division, which Bridlington Town play in, and Division One campaigns are now set to begin on September 19.

The league Tweeted: "It's hoped by then spectators will be allowed into our stadiums with a government decision set to be "imminent".

"The decision comes after a survey amongst our clubs said 90% of them do not wish to play League matches behind closed doors.

"It backs up the view of the NCEL board that playing football behind closed doors isn't financially viable."
