The thoughts of Bridlington Town manager Gary Allanson after the 3-1 win at Thackley.
“It was good to get back on the winning trail and get three points in the bag after being so unlucky against Heanor in our last game.
“The game at Thackley wasn’t pretty as the pitch was very heavy and there was a strong wind blowing down the pitch. We changed things around with personnel and positions and it worked quite well and could have gone in at half time 3-0 up.
“Hopefully we can keep up the momentum and start putting a winning run together but we also realise we have some tough games coming up, it is going to be a good test for the squad as from next week we are back to two games a week up to December and beyond.
“The players are now settling in and a good team spirit is forming where the players are working hard for each other and there is a respect and trust amongst the players which will drive us forward.
“On a sad note Gavin Branton has called time on his time on the club as secretary, he did a very good job and he will be sadly missed because of the work he did for the club. I will miss him personally as he was always on the end of the phone and everything that was asked he did and more.
“Joe (Ripley Red) has taken over the role and is doing a fantastic job and again we are very lucky to have someone who is so dedicated to the club, it makes my role as manager a lot easier as the work load he takes on takes a big burden off my shoulders.
“I wish both Gavin and Joe all the best with their new roles.”
