The views of Bridlington Town boss Gary Allanson

“It showed what a fantastic set up we have when the opposition players are taking photographs on their mobile phones before the kick off.

“As I have said on numerous occasions every team we play it is a cup final for them.

“Saturday gave us an opportunity to rest some players as they have been looking very jaded recently and been playing through niggling injuries and also gave us the chance to look at Tom Fleming coming back from injury and that exercise definitely worked as we came away unscathed.

“We also managed to get Ash Allanson on for 25 minutes and it was great for Aaron Allanson to get a full 90 minutes, his first in over three years and score a fantastic goal which was well worth the wait.

“I thought we also looked to be more relaxed and looked to pass the ball a lot better especially in the first half where we looked quite sharp and bright.

“The pitch was in fantastic state and the players welcomed that after what we have played on recently, so credit to Hendrick and crew for doing a brilliant job.

“We seem to be getting back to full strength for the last four games of the season and we will be doing everything we can to finish as high as possible.

“All four games will be very difficult, but all four will be on good pitches so we really have a chance to play great high-tempo football and really go out with a bang and entertain our fantastic supporters.

“I hope they support the players for another great season.

“Unfortunately we can’t bring any silverware back this season but it isn’t for the want of trying.

“I really hope our fans realise what a great bunch of players we have and the time, effort and commitment they have all given this season.”
