Davidson had two spells with Boro, his most recent one ending earlier this summer, and is set to make his debut in Brid Town's friendly at home to Gainsborough on Saturday.

Town boss Brett Agnew said: “To get Pete (Davidson) is a massive signing for us, he has great experience at a higher level and is a Rolls Royce of a player, he makes everything look so easy.

“I think the travelling was becoming too much for him with Boro in that league.”

Saturday’s clash with Gainsborough, which will be played behind closed doors like the rest of Town’s pre-season games, will see a couple of familiar faces at Queensgate

As well as former manager Curtis Woodhouse, who is now in charge of Gainsborough, right-back Lewis Dennison will also be making his return to Bridlington after leaving the club to join Trinity earlier this summer.
