Five-star Ben Leeson steers Bridlington Rovers Pandas to victory

Ben Leeson scored a fantastic five goals as Bridlington Rovers Pandas edged an 11-goal thriller at home to Withernsea Reserves in Division Five of the East Riding County League.

The Pandas play host to local rivals Bridlington Spa this weekend.

Leaders Spa secured a 2-1 home win against Brownies.

Taylor Barber opened the scoring for Spa on 18 minutes with Olly Brown adding a second goal 10 minutes later as they maintained their unbeaten record.

The refs man of match was Tom Coates, with Brown the players man of the match.

Telegraph moved into third place in Division One with a 3-1 home win against fellow promotion-chasers AFC North.

Man of the match Jack Wilkinson helped himself to a brace of goals, with Billy Simpson also on target.

The Burton Agnes-based club are at home again this Saturday, with lowly Roos the visitors.

Bridlington Rovers, who were without a game last weekend, return to Division Two action at Hessle SC Development this Saturday.

Bridlington Rovers Lions roared to a 9-1 home win against Pocklington Town 4ths in Division Three.

The Lions opened the scoring in the first minute thanks to a Philip Parker effort, and Jake Lister doubled the lead for the Brid team just seven minutes later.

Lister completed his 15-minute hat-trick with further goals on 18 and 23 minutes, effectively wrapping up the win for the home side.

Kieran Jordan made it five for the Lions on 25 minutes and shortly before the half-time break he added another.

Will Webb, Sam Flowerdew and Lister with a fourth completed the Lions’ scoring, Callum Quarton netting Town’s consolation.

The Lions head to Brandesburton Reserves on Saturday, looking for another win to boost their title push.

Bridlington Rovers Millau are also harbouring hopes of a title bid in Division Four after sealing a superb 5-3 win at rivals Longhill Ravens.

The hosts were replaced by Little Driffield at the top of the table after this result.

Lukasz Koziello scored Millau’s only first-half goal, but the Brid side stepped up a gear after the interval, adding goals through George Jewitt-Knott, sub Nathan Goodwill, Louis Gregory and Jay Wallace.

Millau are at home to Northern Wanderers in the league this weekend.

Bridlington Rovers Academy suffered a 7-2 reverse at mid-table Athletico Hull in Division Six.

Sub Josh Pilmoor scored both goals in the second half for Rovers.

The Academy side are at home to leaders Elloughton Blackburn this Saturday.

Bridlington Town Reserves drew 1-1 on the road at Easington United in the Humber Premier Division first division on Saturday.
