The views of Bridlington Town boss Mitch Cook after the 2-1 win over Brighouse Town

“I THOUGHT it was a great game between two really good sides.

“Two teams who were trying to win but I think we just about deserved it because we created more chances, although they were a better team than when they beat us at Brighouse last month.

“Most people know the teams who will be up the top at the end of the season, and we have got one of them out of the way now.

“We’ve also played Retford, Worksop and on Saturday we have Staveley so we will have played most of the obvious tips.

“The players worked hard doing their own jobs and helping everyone else, even though we were without Mark Wilberfroce, Nathan Cook and Tom Lee.

“Wayne Aziz shouldn’t have played but we got 40 minutes out of him, and then he was fuming when we had to take him off.

“Carl Stewart’s was a superb goal, a great header from a great ball in.

“And Chris Batchelor has a lot of quality. He put the free kick on target and made the keeper do some work.

“He is going to be a key part of our team.

“On Saturday, Wilberforce and Lee will be back, Mike Jones is available and Nathan may have a chance.

“But Josh Greening is away.”

“It was good to be able to include the two Brid lads, Ash Robinson and Louis Gregory, on the bench.

“They have got to make sure they stay part of it now, by coming to training and showing what they can do.”
