Bridlington Town are expecting their biggest crowd of the season for Saturday’s showdown with fellow title contenders Tadcaster Albion.
The Seasiders stretched their unbeaten run to 13 games by beating Staveley Miners Welfare last weekend, but Tadcaster are widely regarded as the favourites for the NCEL Premier Division crown.
Town manager Gary Allanson insists the Brewers are a ‘far superior’ side on paper but he has challenged his side to enjoy their big day.
He said: “Saturday is a really big game for us and will test us to our limits. There will be a big crowd and a good atmosphere.
“Tadcaster are virtually an Evo-Stik team now with the way they are set up. They have some very experienced players who have played at a much higher level and a very good manager in Billy Miller who is very astute in what we he does.
“He has a good team of staff around him so will be switched on and will know everything about us.
“We will try and get our players to relax and enjoy the occasion and give it a real go, but we live in the real world and when you look at both teams on paper, Tadcaster are a far superior and vastly more experienced team than us, but I am sure the players won’t let themselves down.”
