Driffield Academy played against rivals Middleton in the Bridlington Evening League Division Two Cup final at Bridlington Cricket Club.
Academy decided to bat first and batted well on a tricky wet wicket with openers Harvey Dixon, 17, and Isaac Wilkes, 46, leading the way.
The runs kept coming as James Foster, 28, and Matthew Busfield, 16no, ensured that they managed to post 125-5 from their 18 overs, while the pick of the Middleton bowlers was Dale Bowers with 3-24.
Middleton’s reply was steady but was never quite up with the required run-rate as Academy bowled and fielded well.
Adam Barton was the top scorer with 26 for Middleton but had no support as their innings petered out to 78-8 from 18 overs.
Pick of the academy bowlers were Steve Thompson, 2-10, and Ben Nellis, 2-21.
Driffield Town 3rds played Woodhouse Grange 2nds in the Readman T20 Cup quarter-final on Monday night.
Town batted first making 144-7, Harvey Dixon top-scoring with 41 with further contributions from Carl Busfield, 24, Ben Lawrence, 24, and Reuben Kelly, 23.
Woodhouse achieved their target inside 16 overs for the loss of two wickets as Matthew Durkin top-scored with an unbeaten 65.
