Despite a bad weather forecast for the final of the Atlas Ward Structures Cricket Cup final, it turned out to be a warm sunny evening for the game at Staxton last Wednesday.
Muston batted first after being put in by Flamborough, and they made an excellent start through openers Phil Marr and Phil Robson with Marr scoring a fine 24 and man of the match Robson carring his bat throughout the innings to make 67 not out.
At the end of their 20 overs, Muston had amassed a score of 134/4 with two Flamborough bowlers taking two wickets each - Luke Dixon with 2-28 and Mike Tate 2-45.
Flamborough’s innings started disastrously with three wickets falling in the first two overs, Barry Anderson finished with bowling figures of 5-8 runs from his five overs, with him taking 3-0 from his first two overs.
At the other end Brandon Horsefield took 3-11 runs before the game was finished off by father and son bowlers Scott and Kyle Orange Orange as Flamborough were all out for just 30 runs leaving Muston winners by 104 runs. Opener Andy Dixon top scored for Flamborough with just six runs.
