York League: Malthouse smashes 113 as Flixton are left frustrated by Hornsea resistance

Richard Malthouse hit 113 for Flixton and with 53 each from Robert Lacey and Jake Mcaleese the hosts were able to reach a mammoth 329-7, Jake Butterworth taking 3-54.

Harry Walmsley (3-60) also took three wickets as the visitors held on eight down with 248 on the board to share the points thanks largely to 76 from Paul Clappison.

Elsewhere in Division One, Beverley Town won a high scoring contest at Pocklington by six wickets.

Ian Pratt top scored with 91 and both Ian Gillyon (67) and Liam Feasey (52) made half-centuries as the visitors chased down the home sides total of 258-8.

Earlier Connor Bowden (3-53) and Peter Parnaby (3-35) had each taken three wickets whilst Richard Readman (56) and Andrew Anderson (72) had helped build what they hoped would be a winning total.

Premier Division leaders Easingwold retained the advantage over title rivals Clifton Alliance extending their unbeaten run to eight matches winning at Beverley Town by 128 runs.

Openers Stephen Piercy (89) and Mark Mierzawinski (56) put on 143 and Matthew Turnbull blasted a quick-fire 73 off just 41 balls as, despite Bradley Graham taking 6-69, the visitors reached 279-7.

The hosts could manage only 151 in reply Harry Gamble top scoring with 54 whilst Richard Lindsey (3-31) and Josh Sargeant (3-2) took three wickets a piece.

Ben Kohler-Cadmore made 102 but finished on the losing side as Driffield Town were beaten at Goole Town by 71 runs.

The hosts scored 261-8 thanks to a half-century from Ben Shelton (54) and contributions from Antony Gibbins (44), Ollie Ounsley (40) and Chris Mainds (43no).

Scarborough 2nds were indebted to Charlie Roberts as they clung on to a losing draw and seven points in the process at home to Carlton Towers in Ebor Division Two.

Two wickets apiece for David Snowball and Harrison Wood couldn't prevent Towers racking up 280-6, Josh Mainprize and Tom Precious grabbing the other two wickets to fall.

Roberts put on a one-man attempt to take Scarborough to the victory after the tea break at North Marine Road, his superb 94 coming in vain though as his teammates failed to offer any real support as they were 171-9 when their overs expired.

Pickering 2nds narrowly missed out on victory at York 3rds in a thrilling encounter.

York racked up 206-8, with the Pikes making it agonisingly close on 197-8 with the result hanging in the balance.

Their runs came via S Smith (65), L Welburn (32) and R Wharton (26).

Malton & Old Malton 2nds suffered a hammering by 94 runs against Dringhouses.

Malton won the toss and invited Dringhouses to bat first, a decision that backfired as the away side made it to 236 all out.

The hosts never looked in the contest after the tea break, and were eventually all out for 142 in 30 overs.
