Scarborough 2nds and Filey set the pace in Beckett League Zone One

Pat Roberts smashed 76 as Scarborough 2nds posted 169-7 from 30 overs, David Snowball chipping in with 27. Isaac Coates was the top Sewerby bowler with 3-41.

Charlie Hopper’s 3-30 then help limit the visitors to 116-8, Shaun Acton top-scoring with 36.

Stuart Neilson (4-24) and Callum Ferrie (3-7 in 6.2 overs)were the star men as Filey dismissed visitors Brid 2nds for just 94 runs.

Steve Pockley hit 38 and Harry Burton 25 for Brid.

Although Filey lost a few early wickets a brutal 43 from just 12 balls by Josh Dawson, including four sixes and four fours, and Ryan Baldry’s unbeaten 39 sealed the win.

James Clark’s 85 steered Folkton & Flixton 2nds to a 147-run hammering of visitors Staxton.

Tom Fletcher-Varey added 35 and Charlie Colley 27 as the hosts racked up a massive 231-6 from 30 overs.

Staxton were then shot out for just 84, Freddie Gunning taking 4-22 and Jack Stephenson 3-13.

Joe Hills was the all-round star as Scalby earned a seven-wicket win at home to Sherburn.

Hills took 4-50 and Paul Hesp 4-44 as Sherburn were dismissed for 142 in 27.4 overs.

Conner Miles hammered five sixes in his 39 from just 19 balls, while Jack Pickard (31) and Phil Pickard (27) also contributed.

Skipper Hills and Stewart Ward then shared an opening stand of 129 to seal the win, Hills dismissed for 71 and Ward unbeaten on 51.

Staithes claimed top spot in Zone Two after their seven-wicket triumph at home to Great Habton.

Doug Bentley (20), Ben Holtby (21) and Ryan Boyes (29) all made starts for Habton but failed to go on and they slipped to 145-8 thanks to a superb 5-28 from Simon Bowes.

Chris Morrison’s composed 52, along with powerful knocks of 31 from Luke Harrison and 26 not out from Bowes, sealed the home victory.

Shaun Smith shone with bat and ball in Nawton Grange’s superb 18-run success at fellow high-flyers Ebberston.

Matthew Kings took an excellent 6-28 as Grange were skittled for 124, Eddie Swiers taking 3-14.

Skipper Smith top-scored with 32 for Grange, fellow opener Charlie Allott adding 26.

Ebberston must have felt they were in the driving seat, but Smith’s spell of 5-11 and Tom Croot’s 3-17 saw the hosts slip to 106 all out.

Skipper Alex Machin and James Magson earlier hit 30 apiece to give Ebberston hope.

Heslerton eased to a seven-wicket win at Settrington.

Andy Slaughter took 4-21 and Toby Sercombe 3-17 as Settrington were limited to a meagre 96-8, Matthew Midgley hitting 29 for the home side.

An unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 88 between Tom Benthall (44no) and Sam Triffitt (42no) sealed the win with 14.1 overs to spare.

Wykeham claimed a 37-run win at Thornton Dale.

Joe Bradshaw top-scored with 34, Ricky Nock adding 29 not out and Jack Holt 25 as they posted 159-7,

Sam Owen’s 5-13 then saw Dale dismissed for 122, Lewis White top-scoring with 29 for Dale.
