Bridlington CC have been dealt a huge blow after star batsman Casey Rudd has announced he is signing for local rivals Driffield.
The opener won the club’s top batsman award again in 2015, and his 44.40 average put him in the top 10 in Division One. Rudd hit 666 runs during last year’s league campaign, with two centuries and four fifties from his 15 innings and a highest score of 129. He also chipped in with 15 wickets at an average of 32.53.
He is the second batsman to leave Bridlington this winter, after Steve Janney left for neighbours Sewerby, but leg-spinner Grant Hutton has arrived from Driffield.
