I WISH to bring to light the appalling situation of the wildlife on Burton Agnes’ lake.
Four years ago eight Muscouich birds were living in this area.
Through the cruel and couldn’t care less attitude of some drivers, the seventh bird was killed last week – leaving one.
These birds and other species roam the road looking for food. Lorries and cars need to consider this. I mentioned to the council to no avail.
As a regular feeder I am deeply concerned for their fate, as I am leaving East Yorkshire for personal reasons.
Please may I say to wildlife lovers, please feed these poor creatures in the week, the water is rapidly subsiding such a shame. In summer they are such an attraction.
Mill Chase, Nafferton.
