Youngsters' lack of respect for people and property

Society's youngsters seem to have less respect for people and property.

On what should have been a pleasant trip to Eastfield Garden Centre with my elderly in-laws, I missed the Easton Road turn-off so carried on up to Woldgate to turn around.

I reversed into the entrance way [on Woldgate] to what looks like a travellers’ fenced-off residential compound to turn around.

Three young children threw rocks at the car, causing serious damage to the door of our new vehicle. Luckily one of the rocks bounced off the rear window, otherwise things would have been worse.

These children then ran back into the compound.

The incident has been reported to police, but isn’t this yet another illustration of how disrespect for people, property and the law seems to be intensifying among the youngsters in our society.
