They either had a really bad experience in the village to start the New Year, or they love to put pen to paper and complain.
Three businesses in Sewerby have received letters from a disgruntled customer - but they have not signed their name or address on any of them.
One sent to the Ship Inn pub complains about their fireworks display on New Year's Eve. The writer says they travelled through from Hull for the celebrations but claims they were told the display started at midnight, rather than at 10pm.
It also urges the owners to 'have more balls' and stand up to residents rather than moving the fireworks from midnight to avoid complaints from people living nearby.
Despite the supposed bad experience at the Ship, the writer stayed in the area and headed to Marton Manor Farm Shop the following day. But because the cafe was not open for lunch on New Year's Day, it has prompted the visitor to get in touch and tell them 'they don't deserve to succeed'.
Third on the hitlist was Bondville Model Village - even though the writer admits they have not visited for a year. The handwritten letter says 'it is about time you banished dogs to the outside area' and it concludes 'get a grip - cafes are for people, not dogs'.
If any more Sewerby businesses have received similar anonymous letters, let us know.
