The Bridlington Free Press is giving you the chance to tell us your favourite pub to help
decide this year’s Pub of the Year competition.

We are asking readers to make their nominations in a competition that will highlight the great pubs in the town and surrounding villages, including Carnaby, Sewerby, Flamborough and Bempton.

The pubs will be judged on the quality and range of ales, the atmosphere and decor, service and clientele mix.

Readers can nominate their favourite pub by commenting on our website story, or by messaging us on our Facebook page.

Feel free to write a short paragraph also telling us why you feel your chosen pub deserves to be crowned the Bridlington Free Press Pub of the Year 2016. It could be for the atmosphere, service or for the quality of the alcohol and your opinions will give us something to look out for when we visit the shortlisted pubs.

Votes can also be cast by Tweeting us @BridFreePress, sending an email to kieran.murray@jpress.co.uk or posting it to Bridlington Free Press, Newchase Court, Hopper Hill Close, Scarborough, YO11 3YS.

We will then draw up a shortlist and a judging panel will make an unannounced visit to help decide the best.

The closing date for entries is Friday 19 August 2016 at noon.

The winners of last year’s competition were Marine Bar pub on North Marine Drive and they were presented with a shield to display behind the bar.

The Telegraph previously won the Free Press Pub of the Year competition.
