Storm Ciara causes issues in Bridlington

Storm Ciara battered the UK yesterday, and caused a few issues in Bridlington.

In Bridlington, Bessingby Hill was shut both ways between Woldgate and Easton Road, due to flooding.

Other routes were blocked by fallen trees, including Church Lane in Sewerby, Jewison Lane in Sewerby and Scarborough Road in Bridlington.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were called out to homes where the storm had wreaked damage to roofs and gardens.

They helped residents hold down a large perspex sheet using garden planters at Haddon Road and inspected a roof where slates had come off at a building on Albert Street.

There were also reports of gardens being flooded and fence panels being blown away by the strong winds.
