Two people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire at a flat in Bridlington on Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out in a bedroom on the first floor of a three storey house on St Johns Avenue, Bridlington on Wednesday 22 May at around 10:30pm.
A man and a woman were rescued from the second floor of a property using a 13.5 metre ladder.
Three engines from Bridlington arrived on the scene and spent around an hour putting out the fire, with six firefighters using breathing apparatus, with two hose reels and one main jet, a thermal image camera and PPV fan.
There was severe fire damage to a first floor bedroom and smoke damage to remainder of the first floor and the stairwell.
The casualties were transported to hospital by ambulance.
A Humberside Fire and Rescue service fire investigator is looking into the cause of the fire.
