It has covered more miles this summer than if it had crossed the Atlantic Ocean.
Bridlington’s ever-popular Yorkshire Belle has finished its 2018 season, having completed 344 cruises and racked up 3,887 nautical miles - that is 700 more than the journey from Southampton to New York.
The pleasure cruises took onboard 13,243 litres,or 2,913 gallons of red diesel to complete its trips, which delighted thousands of passengers.
A post on the boat’s Facebook page said: “We’ve carried on long standing traditions of running cruises with the RSPB and exercising with the Flamborough RNLI lifeboat, but also done things for the first time with our first trips with Children’s University, the first ever cask beer poured onboard with our beer festival, courtesy of the East Yorkshire Beer Company, followed by a gin festival.
“Then, a last day treat of seeing a basking shark, the first one seen from Belle since 1998.”
