A 14-year-old local boy was winched to safety from Sewerby Cliffs after a birthday dare went wrong.

At around 8pm on Saturday May 21, the Humber Coastguard tasked the Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team, RNLI Flamborough Head inshore lifeboat and the RAF helicopter from Leconfield to rescue the teenager who had become stranded on Sewerby Cliffs.
