Trains are running at reduced speeds between Bridlington and Driffield after a track defect was repaired.

Problems were spotted near Carnaby this morning and a number of services were cancelled earlier today.

Network Rail staff have made a temporary repair to the damaged section of track between Bridlington and Driffield and services are now able to run on all lines at reduced speed.

A statement on the National Rail Enquiries website said: "There is a speed restriction being enforced over defective track between Bridlington and Driffield and this is causing disruption to journeys between Scarborough and Hull.

"Train services travelling between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised."
