A motorcyclist who was airlifted to hospital yesterday after crashing near Bridlington yesterday has died.

The 29-year-old was riding a Yamaha R6 which came off the B1229 road in Bempton, near to the junction with Bolam Lane.

A police spokesperson said: "He sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital. Another man who was riding pillion was also injured and needed hospital treament.

"No other vehicles were involved.

"We are appealing for witnesses to this and to anyone who might have seen the bike being ridden in the area around 2.45pm."
