Major changes to bus services across town

It's all change on the buses in Bridlington with major changes to timetables in Bridlington being introduced next month.

Routes are being altered and renumbered, with EYMS saying the overhaul will ‘simplify the town network and combine some quieter services together’, when they come into effect on May 8.

Some areas such as West Hill and the area around The Crayke will see services become hourly, rather than the more frequent buses passengers are used to under the current timetables.

Belvedere and Avocet Way

New Service 2 will replace Service 503, with hourly buses between the town centre, health centre, Cardigan Road, Belvedere Circle, Avocet Way and Kingsgate. West Hill and Bridlington Hospital

Service 3 will replace Services 505/506, with hourly buses between the town centre, health centre, Morrisons, West Hill and the hospital. Buses run in a loop serving West Hill, the hospital, then back towards the town centre.

New Pasture Lane and Old Town

Service 4 will replace Services 507/517, with buses up to every 30 minutes between the town centre, the town hall, Westgate, Market Place, and New Pasture Lane.

Bempton Lane, Jubilee Avenue and Queensgate

New Service 5 will replace parts of Services 503, 504, 507/517, 510 and 512/513, with buses up to every 30 minutes between the town centre, town hall, Queensgate, St Mary’s Walk, Jubilee Avenue, Harewood Avenue and Bempton Lane. Buses run in a loop, serving Harewood Avenue, Bempton Lane, then back towards the town centre.

Thorntondale Drive, The Crayke and Hustler Road

New Service 6 will replace parts of Services 503 and 512/513, with hourly buses between the town centre, Queensgate, Hustler Road, Viking Road and The Crayke. Buses will follow a loop at The Crayke, running along Marton Road, West Crayke and The Crayke, before returning to Viking Road and heading to the town centre.

Eighth Avenue, Sewerby and Flamborough

New Service 14 will replace Service 510, with faster, hourly buses between Bridlington and Flamborough. After Sewerby, buses use Limekiln Lane and Eighth Avenue to go direct to the town centre.
