If you are a business or have a job in tourism in Bridlington, there is a great opportunity to take part in a free one-day training workshop.
Bridlington Renaissance Partnership has been awarded Coastal Community Team status by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
With around 20 per cent of jobs in the town in the tourism industry, good customer care is a key part of the visitor offer, so part of the funding is being used to deliver the Discover Yorkshire Coast Champions – Great Bridlington Ambassadors programme.
The one-day training session will offer advice on customer care techniques and great product knowledge about Bridlington and the Yorkshire Coast for people working in the frontline of local tourism businesses to help visitors get the best out their stay.
The session will run twice – firstly today (10 March) and again on Wednesday 16 March, at Belvedere Golf Club between 10am and 3pm.
Places are limited to 15 for each session and must be pre-booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling Bridlington Renaissance Office on 01482 391708.
Cllr Jane Evison, cabinet portfolio holder for economic investment and tourism, said: “First impressions are extremely important and the welcome and customer service that visitors receive helps to define a destination.
“Investing in people is one of the key attributes for the East Riding and Bridlington as a ‘Great’ destination providing a ‘Great’ visitor experience.”
