Pictured here are East Riding of Yorkshire Councillor Jane Evison, cabinet portfolio holder for economy, with Chris Brealey and Sally Brealey of the Wolds Village, Bainton, during the launch of a Visit Hull and East Yorkshire guide promoting the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds as an ideal location for a short break.

Visitors searching for a peace and tranquillity, looking for a refreshing way to spend some time or a family day out with a difference will find there is a whole World of the Wolds just waiting to be explored.

More than 55,000 copies of the 60-page guide have been printed, containing information about events, leisure attractions and accommodation providers, and will be distributed nationwide as well as taking centre stage at holiday shows in both the UK and overseas.

The brochure looks at how the Wolds inspired the famous paintings of local artist David Hockney, walking and cycling routes that take in the picturesque countryside, the magic of the area’s market towns, amazing stately homes and nature tourism, including the seabird colonies of Bempton Cliffs.
