The streets of Beverley were painted blue and yellow as the prestigious Tour de Yorkshire departed a packed-out Saturday Market.
Thousands of spectators flocked to Beverley to catch a glimpse of the stars such as Sir Bradley Wiggins in action.
Spectators were outside the Bridlington Spa in the their thousands and they certainly didn’t disappoint in supporting the cyclists who began their ceremonial start.
School children in the town took a break from their studies to watch the start of the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire and were participating in the celebrations.
The cyclists set off at 11.50am from Saturday Market, which played host to a range of entertainment throughout the morning before moving through the town to the official start at Beverley Racecourse.
