HEADLANDS student Tim Akrill has enjoyed a week of work experience at the Free Press.
Tim, 17, also studies Business Studies and I.T. at Headlands and is interested in going to university once he has completed his A levels.
“My time at the Bridlington Free Press has been very beneficial for me,” he said.
“I am currently studying English at Headlands Sixth Form and I take great interest in writing. The reporters and staff really helped me feel part of the team, as if I was a real journalist.”
During his week at the Free Press, Tim has been searching for news, shadowing reporters and photographers, and helping to write reports.
He also featured in a picture on the front cover of last week’s Free Press, in a story about kites being banned from Bridlington beaches, something he feels is “a ridiculous situation”.
Tim added: “I would like to thank everybody at the Free Press for making me feel so welcome and giving me the opportunity to experience what working in journalism is like”.
