Support comes in for Old Town's 40s festival
The Lords Feoffees have handed over Â£800 to the organisers of Bridlington Old Town's thriving 1940s festival.
Tens of thousands of visitors packed into the area last June, making it one the area’s most popular annual events.
And organisers are planning to make this year’s nostalgia weekend even bigger and better, with wartime entertainments and hopes of a flypast.
PR officer David Hinde said: “The Old Town Association wishes to thank the Feoffees for this critical donation, which will go towards the entertainment and overall costs of the festival, which has now become an event of regional importance.
“We are very pleased to work in partnership with the Lords Feoffees, bringing many visitors to see the heritage of the Old Town and to maintaining the legacy of the Dad’s Army Movie location and filming.”
The association appealed for additional sponsors to cover rising festival costs and iin addition to the Lords Feoffees, four more sponsors have pledged support for the event – ICF Financial Services, Alan Ball Mortgages, Bridlington Caravan Centre and Rix.
This is in addition to existing sponsors McCarthy and Stone, West Building Supplies, Biffa, WHC Bridlington, Muntons, Williamsons Solicitors, MKM and Image Creation.
