TRIPLE celebrations were enjoyed by a family this Christmas as a pair of sisters celebrated their birthdays on Christmas Day.
Half-sisters Gemma, 31, and Hollie McKie, 17, may share their birth date with the most well-loved holiday of the year, but they ensure they make time for separate celebrations.
Hollie said: “It is really good we have a big party. Although I was working this year, there was a really good atmosphere.
“We get up and have Christmas in one room and we have birthday stuff in another. Everyone is really good about separate presents.”
The sisters celebrate together as family on Christmas Day and enjoy plenty of festive food – with no fewer than three cakes on the day.
Hollie said they then have separate parties with their friends.
Stewart McKie, dad to Gemma and Hollie, said: “We celebrate Christmas morning, and then after lunch is birthday time. It is good fun and they get on really well. It was really weird counting down when they were being born – they’re at either end of Christmas day.”
