The heatwave meant a hectic weekend for Bridlington’s coastguard rescue team.

They were called to seven incidents during Saturday and Sunday - ranging from reports of fires on coastal paths to people cut off by the tide.

There were also searches for missing children and a vulnerable person, all of whom were found safe and well.

the first call-out of the weekend saw the team had to the boat compound to speak to two people who were acting dangerously and riding their water craft too close to the Pirate Ship pleasure boat.

Sunday saw them help a couple who had to wade through chest-high water to safety after being cut off by the tide, and later in the day the Bridlington team were needed in Filey to help crews deal with people who were in difficulty on the Brigg, and another who was in the water at The Bay.
