Registration is now open for next year’s Rock Challenge and J Rock events!

Senior schools, academies and sixth form colleges can now submit an entry form for Rock Challenge, while Junior and primary schools/academies can register for J Rock.

Schools that enter will join thousands of other young people as they take part in one of the UK’s most exciting and popular educational performing arts events.

Rock Challenge events, facilitated by registered charity The Be Your Best Foundation, aim to inspire, engage and motivate young people to make healthy and positive lifestyle choices.

Each show provides the opportunity for young people to experience an adrenalin-based high through performing live on a professional stage rather than using tobacco, alcohol or other drugs.

Schools rehearse and support one another during the day, before performing in in a spectacular evening show.

A sp0kesman said: “We will be holding several East Yorkshire events. Our events held at Bridlington Spa will take place on Monday 4 March 2019 (Rock Challenge teams) and Tuesday 5 March 2019 (J Rock teams).

“Our Bonus Arena Hull events will be held on Monday 18 March (a mix of Rock Challenge and J Rock teams), Tuesday 19 March (J Rock teams) and Wednesday 20 March (J Rock teams).

“Teams of students will perform a five to eight minute dance, drama and design piece that they have prepared over the course of many months with teachers, parents and members of their wider community.

“Set to a theme of their choice each school’s performance is completely original and can vary from tackling a political or social message, retelling a true event, or can be based on an entirely imaginative concept.

“To receive all the latest information on how to secure a place in the 2019 events a school can contact o office by emailing: events@rockchallenge.co.uk. Schools can also email this address to be sent an entry form.”
