SARAH Wood has her sights set on the next London Marathon and is kickstarting her fund-raising with a 13-mile run – without even leaving Bridlington.
Argos worker Sarah, 21, of Cadman Road, will run a half marathon on a treadmill inside the shop in the Promenades Shopping Centre from noon tomorrow (Friday).
She will be raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and is hoping for plenty of local support.
Sarah said: “I’m a Bridlington Road Runner, so I think I will manage the whole 13 miles.
“For some reason I actually like long distance running!”
Former Headlands pupil Sarah wished to thank her former teachers Mr Pope and Mrs Smith-Fox for encouraging her athletic ambitions.
“They have always been really supportive of me,” said Sarah, who is aiming to raise £2,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust by the time the London Marathon comes round again next year.
If she can smash her target, she hopes to take part in the event in the Capital next April.
