Revamped village hall ready for hire

Burton Fleming Village Hall has been transformed with new doors and windows and a new maple sprung floor.

The revamp was achieved by lots of hard work, with the committee and village residents raising £12,000 over the past three years.

Enjoying the coffee morning inside the hall, which can be hired by groups and for social occasions.

They also received help from The Lissett Wind Farm Community Fund which granted £11,300 and The 4Good Fund Supporting Community Projects which awarded £10,000 towards the project.

Businesses involved in carrying out the work were: David Mason T/A Jacksons Hardwood Floor Specialists, Bubwith; Paul Berriman Windows, Driffield; Topline Property Maintenance, Malton; Gordon Naylor Plumbing & Heating, Burton Fleming; Direct Flooring Suppliers, Driffield & Bridlington.

Kate Mercer, secretary, said the hall has many regular users but hoped there will be increased interest especially from dancing, fitness clubs etc.
