The council has promised Bridlington residents better value for their tax money as it prepares to enter into new waste management contracts.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s new contracts, which begin in April next year, will see cash returned to council coffers for certain recyclables, in turn offsetting costs of waste collection and disposal services paid for by residents.

“At long last we are seeing a direct benefit for the East Riding Council’s recycling effort,” said East Riding Councillor Symon Fraser, portfolio holder for environment, housing and planning.
