Police appeal for dog walking witness after Bridlington car chase

POLICE are appealing for a man who may have witnessed a police pursuit of a stolen car to come forward.

The chase took place on Butts Close, Bridlington at around 9.30pm on Tuesday April 17, when police pursued a silver Isuzu Trooper - suspected to be stolen - along Brett Street, Queensgate and St Marys Walk, in Bridlington, before indicating for the vehicle to pull over.

Failing to do so, the vehicle drove off, at considerable speed, along St Marys Crescent and back onto St Marys Walk, before it was followed onto Butts Close.

The Isuzu Trooper collided with a kerb and was eventually abandoned close to a pathway, which leads up to Great Meadow Road.

It is thought that two men travelling in the vehicle got out and ran away in an unknown direction.

Police believe that a man, wearing a dark jacket and trousers, who was walking his dog in the area may have witnessed the incident from Butts Lane, before walking away.

The two men believed to have been travelling in the vehicle are still being hunted by police, who believe the dog walker may be able to assist with enquiries.

The man police wish to speak to, or anyone who may have information in connection with the incident, can call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting log 766 17 April 2012.
