Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements for week commencing July 6. The works could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 Junction 30 Chesterfield to Junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane for 2 nights from Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July. The northbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 7 July. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane running overnight on Thursday 9 July. The southbound entry slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Monday 6 July and the southbound exit slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Thursday 9 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 34 Tinsley to Junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016.

M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The northbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 7 July. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for three nights between junctions 39 and 40 from Monday 6 July and then Thursday 9 July and Friday 10 July. The southbound entry slip road at junction 49 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 8 July. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for three nights between junctions 41 and 42 from Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 July and then Saturday 11 July. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight between junctions 41 and 42 on Saturday 11 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 Junction 3 Doncaster to Junction 4 Doncaster

The southbound side of the motorway between junctions 3 and 4 will be closed overnight for barrier work on the Friday 10 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in April 2016. The slip roads and roundabout at the junction will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 6 July.

M62 Junction 30 Rothwell

The westbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight for technology works on Thursday 9 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

The eastbound side of the motorway between junction 29 and junction 30 will be reduced to a single lane overnight on the Monday 6 July, between 8pm and 6am, for technology works.

M62 Junction 26 Chainbar to Junction 27 Gildersome

The westbound side of the motorway between junction 26 and junction 27 will be reduced to a single lane overnight on the Thursday 9 July, between 8pm and 6am, for technology works.

M621 Junction 7 Stourton

The anticlockwise entry slip road at junction 7 will be closed for routine works early morning on Sunday 12 July. The closures will take place between 5am and 10am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

M621 Junction 5 Tunstall

The clockwise entry slip road at junction 5 will be closed for routine works early morning on Saturday 11 July. The closures will take place between 5am and 10am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

A64 Hopgrove to Grimston

The westbound side of the trunk road from Hopgrove to Grimston will be closed overnight for four nights from the Monday 9 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A64 Headley Bar

The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight at Headley Bar for two nights on Monday 6 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016.
