A wet and windy evening could not dampen the spirits of the spectators at this year’s annual Lions bonfire night.
The night, which has not been known to cancel regardless of the weather, went off with a bang and featured a fantastic pyrotechnics display along with the usual array of bonfire night treats.
Eileen Sunderland, president of Bridlington Lions, said: “Considering the weather, which certainly dampened things, plenty of people braved the weather and came out again to enjoy another spectacular firework night.
“It went very well considering it was such a bad night. We thank everybody for coming along to support us.”
Bridlington mayor Councillor Terry Dixon lit the bonfire at the Limekiln Lane site, which was adorned with three Guys made by Headlands School students.
Any funds the Lions’ collected from the event will go towards good causes in Bridlington.
