FIREFIGHTERS want the public to join their campaign for sprinklers to be compulsory in all new homes.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service has launched an online e-petition and said if it gets the backing of 100,000 people it could be debated in Parliament.
The move follows news that Wales has passed a law making them compulsory in all new homes.
Assistant chief fire officer Chris Blacksell, director of safety at Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, said: “Sprinklers are the equivalent to having a firefighter ready and waiting in every room of your home.”
