Youngster Eli conquers Snowdon mountain to raise funds for Bridlington 1st Beavers/Cubs
A Bridlington youngster has raised more than £200 for the Bridlington 1st Beaver/Cub pack by making it to the top of the highest mountain in Wales – Snowdon.
Eli Wright, 7, took the Pyg route to the summit during the recent holidays and decided to use the challenge to support the pack.
He wanted to give something back to the organisation as a thank you for the activities created during lockdown.
His mum Bethan said: “The pack leaders have been amazing during the Covid lockdowns.
“Even though the groups could not meet up they still kept the children busy with fun packs and tasks.
“It really has kept Eli going though out the lockdowns so he wanted to give something back.
“So far he has raised just over £200 in sponsorship just from friends and family.
“It took him four hours to reach the summit. We are so proud of him. He said it was hard in places but he had to get to the top.”
