Diane Rhoden, Hylands Manager, said: “It went really well. We organised it with Filey Surgery and they delivered 55 vaccines in less than an hour, and that included taking cardigans off and rolling up t-shirts! In 75 minutes they were up and gone.”

“None of the residents showed any ill effects. We’re all looking forward to the second one.”

Over 85% of the staff have been vaccinated so far, as have all 44 of the residents.

Mrs Rhoden said: “The biggest issue is families still can’t visit, we’ve still got to abide by the national lockdown restrictions, but I know alot of our families are relieved.

“We have been amazingly lucky . To date we haven’t had a single client who has had it, but it does take away a little of the pressure and the worry.”
