Three Bridlington powerlifters qualify for World Championships

A personal training studio took a team of 11 lifters, including three from Bridlington to compete against the best in the country at the 2021 BPF British Powerlifting Championships, held in Derby.

The tournament was very well attended with lifters from across the UK.

However, Team FitBox had the largest single team in attendance, which meant Yorkshire had the largest team.

The individual results for the Bridlington lifters were:

Kimberley Vickers – Women’s Open – 75kg Bench Press. 1st place.

Women’s Open – 75kg Strict Curl. 1st place and British record.

Ian – Men’s Masters 6 -82.5kg Deadlift. 1st place.

Craig Wilkinson – Men’s Masters 1 – 100kg Strict Curl. 1st place and British record. A spokesman said: “This tournament was also the qualifier for the 2021 World Championships later this year. Every member of Team FitBox has now qualified.”
