Handy pocket guide brings Bridlington’s history to life
A new book covering the history of Bridlington is set to provide residents and visitors a handy guide as people walk around town.
A pocket-sized, illustrated histor tour of Bridlington due to be released on Thursday, July 15, shows how the town has changed across the decades.
The publication, entitled Bridlington History Tour, has been created by prolific author Mike Hitches.
The new 96 page book contains 50 illustrations.
Filey-based Mr Hitches has written several railway and local interest books.
His previously published work covers North Wales and the West Midlands as well as Scarborough and he has plans for further titles covering other areas in Yorkshire.
A spokesman said: “Bridlington History Tour provides a fascinating glimpse into the past.
“In this book Mr Hitches guides readers around its streets and buildings, showing how its famous landmarks used to look and how they have changed over the years, as well as exploring some of its lesser-known sights and hidden corners.
