The outgoing president Lion Les Taylor passed over the chain of office to incoming president Lion John Hall.

Also at the celebration, Lion Dr John Bayne was presented with the vice presidents collar.

The event was attended by most of the club members who met together for the first time since the Covid-19 restrictions began.

It has been a difficult time for all the club members who have not been able to meet on a face to face basis since March, but are still keeping an eye out for needy causes in the community, the motto of Lions is “We Serve” and Bridlington Lions Club continue to uphold that principle.

There will be many established Lions annual events which unfortunately will not be taking place during the coming months but the club is making plans for their return as soon as possible.

A Bridlington Lions Club spokesman said: “The club is indebted to the people of Bridlington for their continued support and whilst the members will continue to serve the community there will always be a welcome to anyone who would like to be involved in helping the people of Bridlington.

“Anyone who would like to hear more about the club please contact Gary on 01262 675312.”
