Her family have campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of the need for organ and heart donations.

Thalia's plight touched people across the area and last year residents and businesses clubbed together to raise nearly £7,000 to send Thalia on the trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris.

Their generosity gave Thalia the chance to spend four nights in the Christmas Room of the Disneyland Hotel and enjoy meeting and having lunch with a host of Disney characters.

Earlier this month, doctors at Leeds General Infirmary arranged for Thalia to receive a surprise visit from Basil - a horse dressed as a unicorn, complete with a horn and rainbow feet.
